Neptune Homicide Investigation

MONMOUTH COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE CONTINUING THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE FATAL SHOOTING OF TWO 

     " Authorities Investigating The Circumstances Surrounding The Shooting Deaths Of A Plainfield Teen & A Man Found Wednesday Night In A Car In Neptune City."

NEPTUNE, NJ.- On Thursday, January 20, 2022 Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced Detectives are continuing to investigate the Fatal Shooting of Two Individuals that occurred Wednesday night, January 19, 2022 in Neptune City, New Jersey.



     On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Members of The Neptune Township Police Department responded to The 1300 Block of Washington Avenue on a report of a Shooting. Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered a male victim and a female victim, later identified as Samore Edwards, 18, of Plainfield, New Jersey, both suffering from apparent Gunshot Wounds, inside a parked vehicle.


     Ms. Edwards had succumbed to he injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man was immediately transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
