BERGEN COUNTY AUTHORITIES CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE TUESDAY MORNING'S DEATH OF AN ELDERLY ELMWOOD PARK NEW JERSEY MAN

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ.- On Tuesday, October 19, 2021 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced that The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and The Elmwood Police Department are investigating a death that occurred at 24 Beechwood Avenue in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Members of The Elmwood Park Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an incident at 24 Beechwood Avenue.
Upon arrival, Police Officers were told that there was an injured individual inside the residence and another individual had barricaded himself inside the home.
The Bergen County Regional SWAT Team was called, and after a short period of time, a male of the residence surrendered to Police and was taken into custody. Police Officers entered the home and discovered a deceased elderly male victim, later identified as Ronald Vicari.
An investigation is being conducted by The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and The Elmwood Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Foligno. No other information was available at this time.
