Galloway Township Woman Charged

A GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP WOMAN HAS BEEN CHARGED IN THREE MUNICIPALITIES WITH FRAUD AND ANIMAL CRUELTY OFFENSES

     " Jodi Wozniak Of Galloway Township, New Jersey Has Been Charged In Multiple Jurisdictions With Animal Cruelty & Related Theft Offenses."

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Saturday, September 25, 2021 Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced that after a cooperative investigation by Four Atlantic County Law Enforcement Agencies, a 45-Year-Old Galloway Township woman has been Arrested and Charged on Animal Cruelty and Theft related Offenses.



     Jodi Wozniak of Galloway Township, New Jersey has been Charged with Animal Cruelty and Additional Charges in Absecon, Galloway Township, and Linwood, following an investigation by The Municipality Police Departments and The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit.


     Ms. Wozniak has been Charged by The Absecon Police Department with Third Degree Theft of Services, The Galloway Township Police Department filed Charges on Five Counts of Fourth Degree Animal Cruelty, and The Linwood Police Department filed Charges on Two Counts of Fourth Degree Animal Cruelty; Theft of Services; and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.


     On Thursday, September 16, 2021, Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Investigator Denise Manino, received a call from a Galloway Township Police Officer, regarding Five Adult Dogs what appeared to be German Shepherd/ Belgian Malinois Breed that had appeared to be abandoned in the woods in the area of North Pitney Road in Galloway. The Officer stated that some of the dogs were tethered to a tree, while others were in kennels with no food or water. The dogs were owned by Ms. Wozniak, which had recently been evicted from the property, according to the property owner, further the property owner stated to the Officer, that the dogs had been left alone for at least fifteen hours.


     On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Investigator Manino, received a call from Sgt. Champion of The Linwood Police Department, reporting that Ms. Wozniak had brought in puppies that appeared German Shepherd/ Malinois Breed, all suffering from the Parvo Virus, to The Linwood Animal Hospital. Three of the puppies were euthanized, one puppy was returned to Ms. Wozniak, and one puppy remained at the Animal Hospital to continue treatment. 


     Ms. Wozniak, called The Linwood Animal Hospital and used a Stolen Credit Card to pay for some of the services rendered to the puppies.


     Sgt. Champion further stated, that The Absecon Police Department was also investigating Ms. Wozniak. Through an investigation, it was determined that Ms. Wozniak had brought a puppy to The Absecon Animal Hospital on August 28, 2021, for treatment for a digestive tract obstruction. Ms. Wozniak was given an estimated cost for the treatment, however, she never returned to pay for the services, and subsequently abandoned the animal.


     On September 21, 2021, Ms. Wozniak was Arrested and processed on the Charges from The Galloway, Linwood, and Absecon Police Departments.
