FEDERAL AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE A TUESDAY NIGHT FIRE THAT CONSUMED A CHESTER TOWNSHIP HOME

CHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Wednesday, September 8, 2021 Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Chester Police Department Chief Thomas Williver announced that the investigation continues of a residential fire that occurred on September 7, 2021 at 25 Lamerson Road, Chester New Jersey.
On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at approximately 10:44 p.m., a Member of The Chester Police Department, while on routine patrol observed a fire at 25 Lamerson Road. Members of The Chester Volunteer Fire Company were able to extinguish the fire with the assistance of fire departments from Peapack-Gladstone, Far Hills, Bedminster, Liberty Corner, Pottersville, New Vernon, Ralston, Mendham Borough, Brookside, Fairmount, Flanders, Budd Lake, and Randolph.
No injuries were reported, and the circumstances surrounding the fire remain under investigation. However, there is no suspected danger to the public.
In addition to the fire companies, members of The Chester Police Department, The Morris County Sheriff’s Office, The New Jersey Fire Marshal’s Office, The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive, and The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Arson and Environmental Crimes Unit participated in the investigation.
