Egg Harbor City Man Convicted

EGG HARBOR CITY MAN CONVICTED ON CHARGES OF ATTEMPTED MURDER, ROBBERY, AND WEAPONS OFFENSES

     " Robert Harrell Of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey Was Convicted On Tuesday August 10, 2021 On Charges Of First Degree Attempted Murder, & Other Multiple Charges."

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Tuesday, August 10, 2021 Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced that an Atlantic County Jury has convicted an Egg Harbor City, New Jersey in connection with a December 31, 2018 and January 1, 2019 incidents in Atlantic County, New Jersey.


     During an jury trial in State Superior Court in Atlantic County, and before The Honorable Patricia Wild, On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, Robert Harrell, 34, of Egg Harbor City was found guilty on the following counts.



     First Degree Attempted Murder; Two Counts of First Degree Robbery; Two Counts of Second Degree Aggravated Assault; Second Degree Possession of a Firearm for Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Firearms; and Fourth Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons.


     On January 1, 2019, Harrell already wanted in a shooting, was arrested for stabbing a man during a Robbery Attempt. Harrell was arrested without incident by Members of The Atlantic City Police Department in the 3000 Block of Pacific Avenue. Harrell, who was in possession of a knife, was identified as the suspect in the two violent incidents over the two day time frame.


     Harrell had been identified and was wanted following an investigation into a shooting on December 31, 2021. At approximately 9:07 p.m., Members of The Atlantic City Police Department responded to the Econo Lodge located in the 3000 Block of Pacific Avenue on a report of a man being shot.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his face and chest. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries, the victim subsequently survived his injuries.
