UPDATE: 23-Year-Old Mahwah Man Arrested

A 23-YEAR-OLD MAHWAH MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED IN THE ALLEGED SHOOTING DEATH OF CO-WORKER IN MAHWAH, NEW JERSEY

     Milan Ghimire Of Mahwah, New Jersey Has Been Charged With Murder & Weapons Offenses In Connection To The Shooting Death Of Co-Worker On Monday, July 12, 2021."

MAHWAH, NJ.- On Tuesday, July 13, 2021 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella and Mahwah Police Chief Stephen Jaffe announced the arrest of Milan Ghimire, 23, of Mahwah, New Jersey on the Charges of Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Tampering with Evidence.


     The arrest is the result of an investigation by The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, The Bergen County Sheriff's Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and The Mahwah Police Department under the direction of Chief Stephen Jaffe.



     A co-worker of the victim, Milan Ghimire, was identified as the suspect. Ghimire was located in The Bronx, New York and was apprehended by Members of The Emergency Services Unit of The New York City Police Department. An investigation conducted by Detectives from The Mahwah Police Department and The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit revealed that Ghimire shot and killed Phu Tsewang.



     On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Milan Ghimire was Arrested and Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; One Count of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; One Count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and One Count of Fourth Degree Tampering with Evidence.


     Ghimire is being held by New York Authorities, pending his extradition back to New Jersey.


     Bergen County Prosecutor Musella would like to acknowledge the Law Enforcement Agencies that participated in the investigation which result in the arrest of Milan Ghimire.


" The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, Which States: The Charges Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
