Two Men Killed At July 4th Barbecue

 TWO MEN WERE KILLED IN LATE NIGHT NIGHT SHOOTING IN IRVINGTON TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY

     " Two Brothers Were Shot & Killed In Late Night Shooting Incident While Attending July 4th Barbecue In Irvington Shooting."

IRVINGTON, NJ.- On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at approximately 11:47 p.m. Members of The Irvington Township Police Department respondent to a residence on Montrose Terrace in Irvington, New Jersey on a report of two men being struck by gunfire.



     Upon arrival, Police Officers located two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately rushed to University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. The two victims succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased a short time later at the hospital.



     Base upon the initial investigation, the victims were attending a barbecue at the residence when an individual began shooting at them. The victims were later identified as Malik McCallister, 38, of Rahway, New Jersey and Tarik Barns, 42, of Rahway, New Jersey. It was further revealed the to men were brothers.





     The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Task Force Officials are investigating in conjunction with The Irvington Township Police Detective Bureau.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
