Swedesboro Man Arrested In Connection To July 2, 2021 Homicide

 A SWEDESBORO, NEW JERSEY MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO THE JULY 2, 2021 SHOOTING DEATH OF A CAMDEN MAN

     " Nasir Aaron Has Been Arrested & Charged With The Shooting Death Of Darrell Lopez."

CAMDEN, NJ.- On Friday July 9, 2021, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Metro Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez announced that a Camden County man has been arrested and charged in connection to a July 2, 2021 homicide in Camden City, New Jersey.


     Nasir Aaron, 21, of Swedesboro, New Jersey has been charged with One Count of First Degree Murder in the Shooting Death of Darrell Lopez, 31, of Camden, New Jersey. Aaron was arrested on Wednesday July 7, 2021, shortly after 9:30 a.m., by The U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Fugitive Task Force in Paulsboro, New Jersey.



     On Friday July 2, 2021, Members of The Camden County Metro Police Department responded to a multiple round shotspotter activation in the area of the 1100 Block of  Baring Street in Camden, New Jersey, at approximately 9:45 a.m. Upon arrival, Police Officers located the victim, Darrell Lopez, 31, of Camden, New Jersey, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Lopez was transported to an area hospital where Mr. Lopez succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased.



     A second victim, a 50-Year-Old, male, arrived a short time later at an area hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.


     Recovered video surveillance footage, led to Aaron being charged. He is currently being detained in The Camden County Correctional Facility and is awaiting a pretrial detention hearing.
