Paterson New Jersey Man Indicted

A PATERSON, NEW JERSEY MAN HAS BEEN INDICTED ON ARSON OFFENSES IN CONNECTION TO FEBRUARY 1, 2021 PATERSON FIRE

     " Giancarick K. Carbonell Of Paterson, New Jersey Has Been Indicted On Arson Charges & Risking Widespread Injury Or Damage."

PATERSON, NJ.- On Monday, July 12, 2021, Passaic County Prosecutor announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Passaic County has returned an Indictment against Giancarick K. Carbonell, 33, of Paterson, New Jersey in connection to a fire that occurred in Paterson, New Jersey on Monday, February 1, 2021.


     The Passaic County Grand Jury returned the Indictment against Mr. Carbonell with Two Counts of Second Degree Aggravated Arson and Two Counts of Fourth Degree Risking Widespread Injury or Damage.



     The Sentencing Exposure on Second Degree Aggravated Arson is Five to Ten Years in New Jersey State Prison and on Fourth Degree Risking Widespread Injury or Damage is up to Eighteen Months in New Jersey State Prison.


     The Honorable Marybel Mercado-Ramirez, J.S.C., previously granted The States Motion for Pretrial Detention of the defendant. Mr. Carbonell will be scheduled for arraignment before a Superior Court Judge at a date and time determined by the Court.
