PATERSON, NJ.- On Tuesday, July 27, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that approximately 11:01 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021, Members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 17th Avenue and East 27th Street in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers located Nadir Johnson, 35-years-old from Covington, Georgia, lying on the sidewalk in front of 216 17th Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey. Johnson had sustained gunshot wounds. Paterson Police Officers immediately began providing medical attention to the victim. Mr. Johnson was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information may be released once it becomes available.
