BREAKING: Two Arrested In Saturday's Fatal Shooting In Jersey City

TWO CHARGED IN FATAL SHOOTING OF 26-YEAR-OLD JERSEY CITY MAN ON GRANT AVENUE IN JERSEY CITY NEW JERSEY

     " Yasir Harrison & Jala Long Have Been Charged In Connection With The Fatal Shooting Saturday Morning Of Raquan Bass, 26, Of Jersey City, New Jersey."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Tuesday, July 27, 2021 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit has Charged a 32-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman in the shooting death of 26-year-old Raquan Bass, who was fatally shot on Grant Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey on Saturday, July 24, 2021.



     Yasir Harrison, 32, of Jersey City, New Jersey has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon (firearm) for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (firearm).


     Jala Long, 21, of Jersey City, New Jersey has been Charged with First Degree Accomplice to Murder. Long was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the South District Police Department on Bergen Avenue and Harrison was arrested at Bayview and Bergen Avenues in Jersey City, New Jersey.



     On Saturday, July 24, 2021, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to a reports of shots fired in the area of 94 Grant Avenue in Jersey City. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 26-year-old male victim, later identified as Raquan Bass who sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body. Bass was immediately transported to The Jersey City Medical Center, where he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased at 11:15 a.m. The cause and manner of death are pending findings of The Regional Medical Examiner.
