A 19-YEAR-OLD CAMDEN CITY NEW JERSEY MAN IS CHARGED IN CONNECTION OF THE SHOOTING OF ANOTHER TEEN ON JULY 10, 2021

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ.- On Friday, July 16, 2021 Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Gloucester City Police Chief announced of Joel K. Taylor, 19, of Camden, New Jersey, in connection to the July 10, 2021 shooting of an 18-Year-Old Gloucester City Man.
On Saturday, July 10, 2021, at approximately 8:37 p.m., Members of The Gloucester City Police Department responded to the 300 Block of Essex Street in the City for a report of a man being shot. Upon arrival, Police Officers located the victim, who had suffered seven gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to an area Hospital for treatment of his wounds.
A comprehensive investigation by The Camden County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit in conjunction with The Gloucester City Police Department led to the identification of Joel K. Taylor as the lone shooter. Taylor was Charged on Sunday, July 11, 2021 with First Degree Attempted Murder, Second Degree Aggravated Assault, Third Degree Witness Tampering and multiple Weapons Offenses.
Taylor was taken into custody on Friday, July 16, 2021, in the 500 Block of Ferry Avenue in Camden, New Jersey. Taylor is presently lodged in The Camden County Correctional Facility, pending a detention hearing next week.
