Arrest Made In Jersey City's Saturday Night Fatal Stabbing

55-YEAR-OLD MAN CHARGED IN FATAL STABBING OF A JERSEY CITY MAN ON CAMBRIDGE AVENUE IN JERSEY CITY NEW JERSEY

     Steven Bardsley, 55, Of Jersey City Has Been Charged By Hudson County Authorities With Murder & Weapons Offenses In Connection With Fatal Stabbing On Cambridge Avenue."

JERSEY CITY, NJ- On Sunday, July 25, 2021 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced that The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit has charged a 55-year-old Jersey City man with the fatal stabbing of an unidentified adult male, who was found deceased in the area of Cambridge Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey, at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021.



     Steven Bardsley, 55, of Jersey City, New Jersey has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon(knife) for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon(knife).


     On Saturday, July 24, 2021, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of 151 Cambridge Avenue in Jersey City. Upon arrival, Police Officers found the body of an adult male victim, who at this time remains unidentified. The man had sustained stab wounds to his neck, the victim was immediately transported to The Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 10:20 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending findings of The Regional Medical Examiner.



     Steven Bardsley was apprehended a short time later by Members of The Jersey City Police Department in the area of Central Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey. Bardsley was processed and remanded to The Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny, New Jersey.


     Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, credited The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and The Jersey City Police Department for the investigation which resulted in the arrest of Steven Bardsley.


" The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, Which States: The Charges Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
