SUNDAY'S ROAD RAGE SHOOTING LEADS TO FORMAL CHARGES OF PENNSYLVANIA MEN
" 3 Pennsylvania Men Are Charged With Attempted Murder, Conspiracy To Commit Murder, & Other Charges."
SOMERSET, NJ.- Three men were formally charged conspiracy to commit murder in connection with a road rage shooting on Interstate 287 on Sunday, according to State Police Officials on Thursday.
A motorcyclist was driving on the highway in the Bridgewater Township area, when three men pulled up next to him in a car, in which a verbal argument ensued, police reported. One of the men in the vehicle suddenly open-fired, hitting the motorcyclist while he was driving, police further reported.
The motorcyclist was able to exit the highway in Bridgewater, where he called police. The motorcyclist was treated at a local hospital and then released.
Three men were later stopped on Route 22, in neighboring North Plainfield, and taken into custody by State Police.
The men, Matthew Plaza, 32, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, is charged with attempted murder, Plaza also faces additional charges along with Luis Velez, 37, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Raymond Bethancourt, 35, of Shillington, Pennsylvania, with conspiracy to commit murder, and weapons and drug offences. Police recovered two weapons at the time of the arrests.
