Virginia Man Sentenced To Federal Prison

Woodbridge Man Sentenced For Threatening West Virginia Individual

CHARLESTON, W.VA.- On Thursday, January 16, 2025, Sebastian Reigle, 24, of Woodbridge, Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Joseph R. Goodwin to 30 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his conviction on Transmitting a Threat in Interstate Commerce.


     According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson and documents filed with the District Court, on August 2, 2021, an incident occurred in Texas, resulting in the arrest of Reigle for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a later charge of sexual assault.



     Beginning in October 2022 and lasting through January 2024, Reigle left a series of threatening messages on voicemail and text messages for the victim of the August 2, 2021, physical and sexual assault.


     On August 4, 2024, Reigle left one threatening message on voicemail while using a cell phone in Virginia and while the victim was located in the Southern District of West Virginia. In the message, Reigle threatened to "beat" the victim "worse than two years ago," and the beating would leave the individual unconscious.


     U.S. Attorney Thompson commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation's investigative work in investigating, arresting, and successfully prosecuting Reigle.
