36-Year-Old Former Wall Township Teacher Charged Engaging In Months-Long Sexual Relationship With Student

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 36-year-old former Wall Township High School teacher was taken into custody and jailed after being charged on Wednesday with carrying on a months-long inappropriate sexual relationship with a high school student.
According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Julie Rizziello, 36, of Brick Township, New Jersey, who submitted her resignation earlier this week, was formally charged with two counts of second-degree Sexual Assault; third-degree Witness Tampering; and three counts of fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Contact.
After her arrest, Rizzitello was processed on the charges and remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending future court proceedings in Monmouth County Superior Court in Freehold, New Jersey. The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office has filed a motion to have Rizzitello detained pending trial.
The charges stem from an investigation conducted by Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Bureau and the Wall Township Police Department, with the assistance of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Brick Township Police Department determined that the alleged criminal sexual conduct by Rizzitello started earlier this year.
On multiple occasions, and in at least three towns, Belmar, Brick Township, and Wall Township, Rizzitello allegedly engaged in various sexual acts with the student.
As a result of the investigation, Rizzitello was charged in both Monmouth County and Ocean County.
