Man Killed, Woman Injured In Trenton Shooting

32-Year-Old Trenton Man Killed & Woman Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire In Late Night Shooting

TRENTON, NJ.- A 32-year-old Trenton, New Jersey man was fatally shot and an unidentified woman was hospitalized after being struck by gunfire late Thursday night in New Jersey's Capital City.


     According to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J.Onofri, Detectives of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are continuing their investigation into a double shooting that occurred in the late evening hours of July 4th.



     On Thursday, July 4, 2024, just around 11:30 p.m., members of the Trenton Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in progress on the 800 Block of Stuyvesant Avenue in the City of Trenton.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered a man, later identified as Amir Williams, 32, of Trenton, New Jersey, on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Mr.Williams was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.


     During the initial investigation by responding officers, a second shooting victim identified as an adult age woman, had arrived at the Medical Center seeking treatment for a single gunshot wound to her right hip.


     No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
