Former Wall Township Teacher Facing Additional Charges

36-Year-Old Former Wall Township Teacher Charged For Having Sexual Relationship With Another Student

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A former Wall Township High School teacher who was first charged earlier this month with engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship has been additionally charged with allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a second student.

     Julie Rizzitello, 36, of Brick Township, New Jersey, has been additionally charged with second-degree Sexual Assault; and third-degree Witness Tampering.

     An ongoing investigation by Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Bureau and the Wall Township Police Department, in conjunction with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Brick Township Police Department, uncovered that alleged criminal conduct began in 2017 with another student. Beginning at that time, Rizzitello, on multiple occasions in Brick Township, engaged in various sexual acts with a second student.

     The joint investigation resulted in charges being filed in both Monmouth County and Ocean County and is being prosecuted in Monmouth County Superior Court.

     Rizzitello was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, and was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, where she remains incarcerated pending a detention hearing that has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in Monmouth County Superior Court.
