8-Year-Old Boy Tragically Killed Late Yesterday Afternoon While Riding His Bike In Parsippany

PARSIPPANY, NJ.- The Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department are continuing the investigation into a fatal pedestrian motor vehicle collision that tragically claimed the life of an 8-year-old boy late yesterday afternoon in Parsippany, New Jersey.
According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, shortly after 5:30 p.m., members of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department responded to a 911Emergency Call reporting a motor vehicle had collided with a child riding a bicycle on Littleton Road in Parsippany.
Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that a 2022 Mazda CX5 was traveling in the area of 189 Littleton Road and struck an 8-year-old boy. Paramedics from Saint Clare's and Par-Troy EMS responded. Despite life-saving efforts by First Responders, the child succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the initial investigation, Investigators believed that the boy was riding his bicycle when he was struck. The driver of the Mazda remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation
