22-Year-Old Woman Was Sexually Assaulted Sunday Morning Inside A Car In Jersey City, New Jersey

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Today, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported, that members of the Hudson County Special Victims Unit are continuing to investigate the sexual assault of a woman that occurred on Sunday morning in Jersey City, New Jersey.
According to authorities, a 22-year-old woman reported to Police that on Sunday, June 2, 2024, she was approached by an unknown man, in a Journal Square neighborhood, after being approached by the man, she entered his white vehicle that he was driving.
After entering the vehicle, the man drove a short distance to the area of Division and Eighth Streets in Jersey City where he sexually assaulted her in the vehicle at just around 7:00 a.m.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives have identified a person of interest. More information may become available once released by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
