21-Year-Old Paterson Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire Sunday Night In Paterson, New Jersey

PATERSON, NJ.- A 21-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man remains hospitalized, after becoming the third person to be struck by gunfire Sunday night as gunfire rings out in a second Paterson, New Jersey shooting.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Sunday, June 2, 2024, just shortly before 8:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting in the area of Butler and Sassafras Streets in the City of Paterson.
Upon arrival, Police Officers were able to locate evidence of a shooting. While interviewing residents in the area, Police Officers were notified that a 21-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man walked into Saint Joseph's University Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Following interviewing the victim, and based on the evidence found at the scene Police Officers determined that the man was shot near the intersection of Butler and Sassafras Streets in the City of Paterson.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as authorities continue their search for the gunman.
