Man Shot Dead Friday Night In Housing Project

36-Year-Old Man Was Killed After Being Struck By Gunfire Friday Night At An Elizabeth New Jersey Housing Project

ELIZABETH, NJ.- Members of the Union County Homicide Task Force and the Elizabeth Police Department are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a 36-year-old man who was found dead late Friday night in a public housing project.


     According to Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, on Friday, May 24, 2024, at around 10:00 p.m., members of the Elizabeth Police Department responded to the Mravlag Manor Housing Project after receiving reports of gunfire.



     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, identified as Jair Adams, 36, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, unresponsive from gunshot wounds. Mr. Adams was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue their search for the gunman.
