Two Teens Charged With Shooting Three People

TWO 16-YEAR-OLD BOYS CHARGED WITH THE SEPTEMBER 3, 2023 SHOOTING OF THREE PEOPLE

     "Teens Charged With Attempted Murder & Multiple Weapons Offenses For A September 3rd Early Morning Shooting That Hospitalized 3."

PATERSON, NJ.- A 16-Year-Old Paterson, New Jersey Boy and a 16-Year-Old Clifton, New Jersey Boy have been Taken into Custody and Charged in connection to a September 3, 2023 Shooting that left Two Paterson, New Jersey men and an Elmwood Park, New Jersey man Hospitalized from Gunshot Wounds.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, the Teens have both been Charged with Acts of Juvenile Delinquency with Crimes of First Degree Attempted Murder; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.  The Teens were Processed on The Charges and were transported to The Essex County Juvenile Detention Center pending Future Court Proceedings.

     According to Authorities, on September 3, 2023, Members of The Paterson Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call Reporting a Shooting in the area of Union Avenue and Jasper Street in The City of Paterson.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 28-Year-Old Elmwood Park, New Jersey man with a Non-Life Threatening Gunshot Wound. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph's University Hospital for Treatment. While on scene Police Officers were notified that a 33-Year-Old Paterson, New Jersey man, and a 29-Year-Old Paterson, New Jersey man had separately arrived at Saint Joseph's University Medical Center seeking treatment for Non-Life Threatening Gunshot Wounds.

     The initial investigation by Police Officers was able to find evidence of a Crime Scene at that location and that all Three Men were Shot at that location. an ensuing investigation by Detectives of The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and The Paterson Police Department's Shooting Investigation Unit were able to determine that The Clifton, New Jersey Teen and The Paterson, New Jersey Teen were The Two Responsible for The Shooting of The Three Men.
