WALLINGTON, NJ.- Two Bergen County, New Jersey men have been arrested and charged in connection with two knifepoint robberies that occurred at a Wallington, New Jersey 7-11 convenience store on Monday, April 8, 2024, and a 7-11 convenience store that occurred on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in Passaic, New Jersey.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Monday, April 8, 2024, at approximately 3:48 p.m., members of the Wallington Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an armed robbery at the 7-11 convenience store located on Main Avenue in Wallington.

Upon arrival, Police Officers determined that a man, armed with a large knife confronted a store employee who was outside the store and had the employee convince his co-worker to open a locked side door. Once inside the store, the man restrained one employee with a cord and confined the other employee to a back office. The man threatened to kill the worker if he didn't comply and stole approximately $2,300 before fleeing the store.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Squad initiated a joint investigation with Detectives of the Wallington Police Department.

As the investigation continued, Detectives were made aware of a similar incident that occurred on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, shortly before 3:00 p.m., members of the Passaic Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an armed robbery at the 7-11 convenience store located on Central Avenue in the City of Passaic.

Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that a man, armed with a large knife, approached a store employee and demanded money from the cash register. The man emptied the cash register, before fleeing the store in a vehicle. Detectives of the Bergen County Special Investigations Squad determined that the vehicle used in the robbery had been reported stolen from Paterson, New Jersey.

The ensuing investigation by Bergen County Detectives identified Tymear Haskins, 23, of Wallington, New Jersey as the suspect in both robberies. As a result of the investigation, on the morning of Thursday, April 18, 2024, Bergen County Authorities located the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Wallington, where Haskins was residing.

With assistance from members of the Bergen County Regional S.W.A.T., Detectives apprehended Haskins as he approached the stolen vehicle. Following further investigation Detectives learned that Devon Delgado, 24, of Lodi, New Jersey, assisted Haskins with removing and discarding the license plates from the stolen vehicle, and was also taken into custody.

Accordingly, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, Haskins was formally charged with two counts of First Degree Armed Robbery; First Degree Kidnapping; two counts of Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Third Degree Terroristic Threats; Thrid Degree Hindering; Third Degree Receiving Stolen Property; and a disorderly persons offense of Receiving Stolen Property. Following being processed on the charges, Haskins was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Also on Thursday, April 18, 2024, Delgado was formally charged with Third Degree Hindering. Delgato was processed on the charge and was released pending future court proceedings.
