South Amboy Woman Charged With Killing Ex-Boyfriend

41-YEAR-OLD SOUTH AMBOY WOMAN CHARGED IN EARLY MORNING STABBING DEATH OF EX-BOYFRIEND

     "Anneris Deleon Was Charged For Fatally Stabbing Her Ex-Boyfriend Anthony Patterson Early This Morning."

SOUTH AMBOY, NJ.- A 41-Year-Old South Amboy, New Jersey woman was Taken into Custody and Formally Charged in connection with The Early Thursday Morning Stabbing Death of her Ex-Boyfriend inside her George Street Residence.


     According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Thursday, April 11, 2024, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Members of The South Amboy Police Department responded to a 911-Emergency Call Reporting an incident at a George Street Residence in Perth Amboy.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Anthony Patterson, 32, of Edison, New Jersey Unresponsive from a Stab Wound. Mr. Patterson succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Anneris Deleon, 41, was located inside the residence with Blood on her Clothing. Ms. Deleon was transported to Raritan Bay Medical Center for an Evaluation. 


     An ensuing investigation by Detective John Cooney of The South Amboy Police Department and Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office Detective Jose Rosario determined that the Stabbing was not a Random Act of Violence and that Ms. Deleon had been involved in a prior relationship with Mr. Patterson.


     Following the investigation, Detectives found probable cause to Proceed with Charges. Accordingly, Ms. Deleon following her evaluation was Taken into Custody and Formally Charged with First Degree Murder; Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.


     Ms. Deleon was Processed on The Charges and was transported to The Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending Future Court Proceedings in Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
