Atlantic City Man Sentenced To Prison For Attempted Murder

YESTERDAY A 38-YEAR-OLD ATLANTIC CITY MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR THE 2019 SHOOTING OF A MAN

     "Kevin Davis Was Sentenced On Monday Additional 15 Years In Prison To Run Concurrent With The 48 Year Sentence He Is Presently Serving."

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Monday, April 8, 2024, an Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Sentenced Kevin Davis, 38, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, to a Term of 15 Years in New Jersey State State Prison on The Charges of First Degree Attempted Murder and Second Degree Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose, The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office reported.



     According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on September 13, 2019, Davis approached a man and Shot him in The Stomach with a Handgun then Fled the Scene on a Bicycle. 


     Following an extensive investigation, Detectives of The Atlantic City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit after reviewing Surveillance Video Footage of The Surrounding Area were able to Identify Davis and the Home to which he fled into. 


     After being identified, Detectives Executed a Court Authorized Search Warrant at the location and Davis was Detained after a brief Foot Pursuit. During the Search, Detectives located Clothing that Davis wore at the time of The Shooting, a Large Quantity of Fentanyl and a Loaded Handgun were also found. Following Ballistic Test the Gun Found was not used in The Shooting of the Man.


     On February 20, 2024, during a Hearing in Atlantic County Superior Court, Davis entered a Guilty Plea to Attempted Murder and The Second Degree Weapons Charge in connection with the September 2019 Shooting.


     Yesterday's State Prison Sentence will Run Concurrent to Two other Sentences Davis is Presently Serving for Other Criminal Convictions.
