Somers Point, New Jersey Man Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Charge

74-YEAR-OLD SOMERS POINT MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO DISTRIBUTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

     "Roger B. Tees Will Spend The Next 4 Years In New Jersey State Prison For Sharing Child Pornography On A File Sharing Application."

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, during a Hearing in Atlantic County Superior CourtRoger B. Tees, 74, of Somers Point, New Jersey, Pleaded Guilty to a Charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, for Distribution of Child Pornography, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds.



     In return for Tees' Guilty Plea, The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office will recommend that Tees be Sentenced to a Term of Four Years in New Jersey State Prison. Sentencing has been Scheduled for May 9, 2024, before The Honorable Pamela D'Arcy, J.S.C. Mr. Tees will also be subject to Parole Supervision for Life and will be required to Register as a Sex Offender under Megan's Law Requirements.


     The investigation began when Tees used his Yahoo Account to save Child Sexual Abuse Material to his Cloud Account. Upon Tees Scanning The Digital Images, Yahoo reported the Uploaded Images to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and notified Atlantic County Authorities.


     Detectives of The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office High-Tech Crimes Unit determined that Tees was Sharing Child Sexual Abuse Material on Telegram, a popular instant message and file-sharing application, and saving the material to his Yahoo Account.


     Following the Execution of a Court Authorized Search Warrant, on his Residence, The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office High-Tech Crimes Unit, The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, and The Somers Point Police Department uncovered Numerous Videos and Photographs Depicting Children Engaged in Sexual Acts, on Tees' Electronic Devices.
