Former Toms River School Teacher Sentenced To County Jail

FORMER TOMS RIVER SCHOOL TEACHER SENTENCED TO 180 DAYS IN  JAIL FOR CHILD ENDANGERMENT

     "Kyle Banner Was Sentenced To Jail For Posting Sexually Explicit Pictures Of Himself On His Public Social Media Platform."

TOMS RIVER, NJ.- On Friday, March 22, 2024, a 49-Year-Old Former Toms River School Teacher was Sentenced to The Ocean County Jail for Posting Sexually Explicit Pictures of Himself to his Public Twitter Profile Page.



     According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Friday, The Honorable Judge Guy P. Ryan, Sentenced Kyle Banner, 49, of Brick Township, New Jersey, to a Term of 180 Days in The Ocean County Jail, as well as Parole Supervision for Life. The Sentence is the result of a Guilty Plea that Mr. Banner entered on November 6, 2023, to Three Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. In addition, Judge Ryan Ordered Banner to Forfeit his Teaching License, as well as Barring Banner from Holding any Future Public Employment. Upon release Banner will be required to Register as a Megan's Law Sex Offender, and is to have No Contact with his Victims.


     Back on April 23, 2023, Administrators at The Toms River Intermediate North School were alerted that Banner, a Teacher at both Toms River Intermediate North and Ocean County College had Posted Sexually Explicit Photographs of Himself to his Public Twitter Profile. The next day, April 24, 2024, Banner was Suspended from his Teaching Position without pay.


     A Thorough and Extensive by Ocean County Authorities determined that Students had viewed The Photographs by accessing Banner's Public Twitter Profile Page. The Investigation also uncovered that The Photographs were Taken in his Classroom at Toms River Intermediate North School. During the course of the investigation, Detectives learned that Banner sent inappropriate photographs of himself to a Student via Snapchat. Detectives also recovered Multiple Images of Banner engaging in Sexual Conduct with himself inside his Classroom.


     Banner surrendered himself at The Toms River Police Department on May 23, 2023, and was Lodged in The Ocean County Jail. Following a Pretrial Detention Hearing, Banner was Released on Pretrial Monitoring.
