Elizabeth Man Convicted Of Sexually Assaulting Two Young Girls

ELIZABETH, NJ.- On March 8, 2024, a Jury sitting in Union County, New Jersey Convicted a 62-Year-Old Elizabeth, New Jersey man for The Repeated Sexual Assaults of Two Young Girls over the course of Eight Years.



     According to Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, following a Two-Week Trial in Union County Superior Court, on Friday, March 8, 2024, a Jury returned Guilty Verdicts against Ahmed Andre, 62, of Elizabeth, New Jersey on The Charges of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Four Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault; Two Counts of Third Degree Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact; Two Counts of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and One Count of Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact.


     The investigation began after Union County Authorities were contacted by Elizabeth Public School Officials. The investigation was led by Sergeant Joanne Son of The Union County Prosecutor's Office.


     According to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Peter Benza, who Prosecuted the Case, the investigation uncovered that the Two Girls were Sexually Assaulted by Andre on Multiple Occasions beginning when they were Nine and Ten Years Old.


     "This verdict delivered a measure of justice for these brave women who came forward about the abuse they suffered," Prosecutor Daniel said, upon hearing the verdict. "The Union County Prosecutor's Office is committed to pursuing the prosecution of individuals who prey on vulnerable children."


      Andre has been Scheduled for Sentencing on April 19, 2024, before The Honorable Candido Rodriguez, Jr., at which time Andre will Face a New Jersey State Prison Term of up to Twenty-Five Years with an Eight-Five Percent Parole ineligibility.
