Arrest Made In February 28, 2024 Trenton Fatal Shooting

38-YEAR-OLD TRENTON MAN CHARGED WITH THE MURDER OF A 45-YEAR-OLD MAN IN TRENTON

     "Chelsey White Was Taken Into Custody & Charged With Murder & Weapons Offenses In The Shooting Death Of Shawn Moore."

TRENTON, NJ.- Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported, that following an Investigation by Members of The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and Detectives of The Trenton Police Department on Sunday, March 10, 2024, a 38-Year-Old Trenton, New Jersey man was Taken into Custody and Charged with The February 28, 2024 Fatal Shooting of a 45-Year-Old Trenton man.



     According to Authorities, Chelsey White, 38, of Trenton, New Jersey has been Formally Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons.


     Mr. White was Arrested Sunday Evening without incident in Branchburg, New Jersey by Members of The United States Marshals Service New York/ New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. White was Processed on The Charges and was Remanded to The Mercer County Correctional Center. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has Filed a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Mr. White Detained pending Trial.


     The Charges stem from an incident, when on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, shortly before 8:00 p.m., Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to a report of a Shooting in Progress at 428 Ardmore Avenue in The City of Trenton.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found an Unresponsive man, later identified as Shawn Moore, 45, of Trenton, New Jersey, on The Porch of 428 Ardmore Avenue suffering from a Gunshot Wound to his Chest. Despite Life-Saving Efforts, Mr. Moore succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene.


     A Swift-Moving Investigation by The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and The Trenton Police Department was able to identify Mr. White as a Suspect and The Individual Responsible for The Shooting Death of Mr. Moore.
