Additional Charges Filed In Cape May County Child Pornography Case

21-YEAR-OLD RIO GRANDE MAN FIRST CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY FACES ADDITIONAL CHARGES

     "Javish Roman, Originally Charged On March 14th For Possession Of Child Pornography Was Again Charged On Thursday With Manufacturing Child Pornography."

RIO GRANDE, NJ.- Following an ongoing investigation, a 21-Year-Old Rio Grande, New Jersey man who was First Charged on Thursday, March 14, 2024, with Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for Distribution of Child Pornography; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for Possession of Child Pornography.


     According to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffery H. Sutherland, following a Tip from The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, that an unidentified individual was accessing the Internet via a Third Party Application to Download, Distribute, and Possess Digital Images of Nude and or Sexually Explicit Children, within The Cape May County Area. 



     During the investigation, Members of The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office with the assistance of Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Agencies were able to Identify Javish Roman, 21, of Rio Grande, New Jersey as The Suspect. 


     On Thursday, May 14, 2024, following the conclusion of the investigation, Members of The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, The Cape May County S.W.A.T., The Department of Homeland Security Investigations, and The Middle Township Police Department Executed a Court Authorized Search Warrant at The Home of Mr. Roman. During the Search, Detectives Seized Multiple Electronic Devices from Roman, and he was Taken into Custody and Formally Charged with The Second and Third Degree Offenses.


     Roman was Processed on The Charges and was Remanded to The Cape May County Correctional Center pending Further Court Proceedings.


     According to Prosecutor Sutherland, following an extensive Analysis of Mr. Roman's Electronic Device, Detectives uncovered that Roman Exchanged Videos and Photographs with an Out of State Juvenile Engaging in Prohibited Sexual Acts. further analysis uncovered over an Additional Digital Files depicting Child Sexual Abuse Material.


     Accordingly, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, Roman was Additionally Charged with First Degree Manufacturing of Child Pornography; Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for the Possession of Child Pornography; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Roman was Served with The Complaint Warrant at The Cape May County Correctional Center where he is currently being Detained on The Original Charges.
