FORMER POLICE OFFICER INDICTED IN CONNECTION WITH HACKING SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS OF WOMEN

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ.- In an Ultimate Betrayal of Public Trust, a 24-Year-Old Former Mount Laurel Police Officer has been Indicted by a Grand Jury sitting in Burlington County, New Jersey, on Charges for Hacking into The Social Media Accounts of Multiple Women and Distributing Nude Images they kept for themselves.
The Grand Jury Returned The Indictment on February 15, 2024, against Ayron Taylor, 24, of Moorestown, New Jersey on Fifty-Four Counts of Second and Third Degree Elements of Computer Theft; Twenty-One Counts of Second and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for The Distribution of Child Pornography; Nineteen Counts of Second and Third Degree Invasion of Privacy; One Count of Second Degree Elements of Computer Theft; One Count of Third Degree Elements of Computer Theft; and One Count of Official Misconduct, according to The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
The Indictment stems from an incident when in 2022, Mr. Taylor Targeted approximately Twenty Female Victims. Taylor is Charged with Accessing their Social Media Accounts, Without Permission, and in Several Instances, Distributed Nude Photos to People on their Contact Lists. The Child Pornography Distribution Charges were Filed because some of The Photos he Accessed were taken before the Women became Legal Adults.
The Official Misconduct Charge was Filed because Taylor's Actions occurred while he was on Duty as a Mount Laurel Police Officer. It is Alleged that Taylor used his own Personal Electronic Devices during that time, and his actions did not involve any Police Department Devices.
The investigation began in September 2022, after the initial victim contacted The Evesham Township Police Department to report that her Snapchat and Facebook Accounts had been Hacked by a Unknown Person who then Sent Nude Photos she had taken of herself to her Snapchat Contacts, Messaged them to her Facebook Friends, and Posted them on her Facebook Wall and Timeline.
The investigation further determined that all the victims maintained a student email account through Rowan College of Burlington County. during the continuing investigation, Detectives learned that Taylor accessed around 5,000 Student College Email Accounts.
Taylor became a Full-Time Police Officer with The Mount Laurel Police Department after Graduating from The Police Academy in October 2021. The Department took immediate action to suspend Taylor following the initial Charge. Taylor later resigned after steps were taken to terminate his employment.
