HOWELL WOMAN CHARGED FOR KILLING A THREE YEAR OLD CHILD WHILE DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF NARCOTICS

HOWELL, NJ.- A 31-Year-Old Howell Township, New Jersey woman remains Jailed after being Arrested and Charged in connection with Causing a Fatal Three Vehicle Crash that occurred on January 13, 2024, that Tragically Claimed the Life of a 3-Year-Old Girl.
Samantha E. Bonora, 31, of Howell Township, New Jersey, has been Formally Charged with One Count of First Degree Aggravated Manslaughter; and Two Counts of Second Degree Aggravated Assault. Ms. Bonora was also Charged with Driving Under the Influence and Multiple Motor Vehicle Offenses.
The Charges stem from an incident, when on Saturday, January 13, 2024, shortly after 4:30 p.m., Members of The Howell Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Serious Multi-Motor Vehicle Collision that had occurred on Route 34 in The Township near The Colts Neck Border.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a Multi-Vehicle Crash. A subsequent investigation by Monmouth County Authorities determined that Ms. Bonora was Driving Southbound on Route 34 South in a Dodge Ram Pickup Truck in Howell when she traveled into the Northbound Lane into oncoming traffic. Bonora continued to Drive South in The Northbound Lane until Bonora's Pickup Truck Collided Head-On with an oncoming Jeep Grand Cherokee. The impact caused Bonora's Vehicle to come to an abrupt stop at which time it was Struck from behind by a Ford Bronco.
Tragically, one of the Passengers in The Jeep Cherokee, a 3-Year-Old Girl was Killed and pronounced deceased at the scene. The Driver of The Jeep Cherokee and the other Passenger, a 2-Year-Old Boy, sustained Serious Injuries and were transported to a nearby Hospital. Ms. Bonora, as well as a Female Passenger in The Jeep Cherokee and the Female Driver of The Ford Bronco, sustained Minor Injuries.
Further investigation determined that Ms. Bonora was Under the Influence of Multiple Narcotic Substances when she Crashed into The Jeep Cherokee.
Bonora was Taken into Custody without incident, and after being Processed on The Charges she was Remanded to The Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending her First Appearance which has been Scheduled for Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in Monmouth County Superior Court.
