BREAKING NEWS: Active Newark. New Jersey Shooting Homicide Investigation

ONE DEAD AND ONE HOSPITALIZED IN FRIDAY NIGHT SHOOTING IN NEWARK NEW JERSEY

     "Essex County Authorities Continue To Investigate The Circumstances Surrounding A Late Friday Night Shooting That Killed 1 & Injured Another."

NEWARK, NJ.- A 28-Year-Old Newark, New Jersey man becomes the Seventh Victim in 33 Days to be Killed Late Friday Night as Violence continues to plague the Streets of New Jersey's largest City.



     According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, on Friday, February 2, 2024, just after 11:00 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting Shots Fired on The 100 Block of Dewey Street in The City of Newark.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers located Two Victims suffering from Gunshot Wounds. One of the Victims, Jaquill D. Swain, 28, of Newark, New Jersey, succumbed to a Gunshot Wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Second Victim, an unidentified individual was transported to a nearby Hospital for treatment for a Non-Life Threatening Gunshot Wound.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Authorities continue to search for a suspect.
