TWO STATE INVESTIGATION ENDS WITH AN ELMWOOD PARK MAN BEING CHARGED FAKE ID TRAFFICKING

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ.- Following a New York, New Jersey Joint Investigation, a 35-Year-Old Elmwood Park, New Jersey man was Taken into Custody Last Tuesday and Charged in connection with Manufacturing Fraudulent Government Documents for the purpose of Selling the Documents.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, based on information received from The Manhattan District Attorney's Office, The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Financial Crimes Unit launched an investigation into the Suspected Manufacturing and Sale of Fraudulent Documents by Kalvin Lopez, 35, of Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
On Friday, February 2, 2024, Detectives Executed a Court Authorized Search Warrant on the Residence of Mr. Lopez in Elmwood Park. Detectives of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and The Manhattan District Attorney's Office with the assistance of Investigators of The United States Postal Inspection Service uncovered a Large Amount of Digitally Stored Financial Identification Documents and Finacial Information. Detectives also found information from Lopez's Apartment that led them to a Second Location in Haledon, New Jersey.
A week later, on Friday, February 9, 2024, Detectives Executed a Secon Court Authorized Search Warrant on The Haledon location where Detectives found a Counterfeiting Facility, containing Multiple Specialty Printers, Tools, and Raw Materials used in The Manufacturing of Fraudulent Identification and Financial Documents.
Accordingly, On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Mr. Lopez was Formally Charged with Second Degree Possession with the Intent to Sell False Government Documents; Second Degree Manufacture of False Government Documents; and Second Degree Trafficking in Personal Identifying Information.
Mr. Lopez was Served and Processed on The Charges at The Bergen County Jail, where he is awaiting Extradition to New York to Face Charges in that Jurisdiction.
