FORMER PHILLIPSBURG POLICE OFFICER SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR DISTRIBUTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

BELVIDERE, NJ.- On November 30, 2023, A 34-Year-Old Former Phillipsburg Police Officer who was Sworn to Uphold The Laws, and to Protect The States Children has now been Sentenced to New Jersey State Prison for Distributing Child Pornography and Cyber Harassment.
According to Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer, on January 31, 2022, The Warren County Prosecutor's Office received a Cyber-Tip from The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an Individual in The Phillipsburg, New Jersey area had Distributed Child Pornography through The Messaging Application.
An investigation was launched, and Detectives were able to identify the individual as Phillipsburg Police Officer Gary A. Ricker, and a Search Warrant was obtained. On February 24, 2022, Detectives Executed the Search Warrant and Ricker was found to be in Possession of 39 Digital Files, both Images and Videos depicting Pubescent and Prepubescent Children in Sexually Explicit conduct.
Further investigation determined that Ricker Distributed Pornographic Images of an Adult Woman without her consent.
On February 15, 2023, Mr. Ricker Pleaded Guilty to Second Degree Distribution of Child Pornography; and Fourth Degree Cyber Harassment. Last Friday, November 30, 2023, The Court imposed a Three Year Term in New Jersey State Prison, and Eighteen Months to run concurrent with The Three Years for The Cyber Harassment Charge.
Additionally, The Court required Ricker to Comply with Megan's Law Registration Requirements and will be on Parole Supervision for Life.
