BREAKING: Irvington, New Jersey Woman Charged In Roxbury, New Jersey Motel Shooting

24-YEAR-OLD IRVINGTON WOMAN RETURNED TO NEW JERSEY TO FACE CHARGES IN THE OCTOBER 18TH ROBBERY SHOOTING

     "Auraceli A. Maldonado Has Been Returned To New Jersey From Florida To Face Charges Of Robbery, Aggravated Assault & Weapons Offenses."

ROXBURY, NJ.- Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll reported that a 24-Year-Old Irvington, New Jersey woman has been returned to New Jersey to Face Charges in connection with a Shooting that occurred on October 18, 2023, at The Roxbury Motel located on Route 46 in Roxbury, New Jersey.


     On October 18, 2023, at approximately 8:56 p.m., Members of The Roxbury Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Shooting at The Roxbury Motel. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, with a severe Gunshot Wound to his Leg. The man was immediately transported to a nearby Medical Center for treatment. Following the Shooting the Suspects Fled the Scene.


     An ensuing investigation by Morris County Law Enforcement Officials determined that the man had planned to meet with an Unknown Suspect at the Motel. On the date of The Shooting, Video Surveillance captured a Honda Accord with New York License Plates arriving in The Motel Parking Lot. Moments later a man and a woman were seen exiting the vehicle. It is alleged that these two individuals met with the man, the Woman was Armed with an AR-15 Style Rifle during the initial interaction. 


     Further, it has been Alleged that the Two Suspects Robbed the man, who was Shot in the leg during a Struggle for the Rifle, the Two then Fled the Scene. The investigation determined that Maldonado was the Registered Owner of The Honda Accord, which was observed Traveling through East Hanover, New Jersey shortly after the Shooting. Ms. Maldonado was Apprehended and Detained in Middleburg, Florida on November 2, 2023. The Male Suspect still remains at large. 


     Following an Extradition Hearing Ms. Maldonado was Returned to Morris County, New Jersey, and formally Charged with First Degree Armed Robbery; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Third Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Second Degree Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery; and Second Degree Aggravated Assault.


     Ms. Maldonado was Processed on The Charges and is being Detained in The Morris County Correctional Facility pending Future Court Proceedings.
