BERGEN COUNTY TEEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE DECEMBER 1, 2023 CRASH THE SERIOUSLY INJURED THREE

CLOSTER, NJ.- A Group Teens Out for a Friday Night ended abruptly when the Tesla X they were Driving in Crashed into a Tree on Durie Avenue in Closter, New Jersey, has resulted in a Teen being Charged with Assault by Auto for Seriously Injuring Three Passengers in The Crash.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Friday, December 1, 2023, shortly before 6:30 p.m., Members of The Closter Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Single Serious Motor Vehicle Crash on Durie Avenue in Closter.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a Tesla Model X that had run off the roadway and Struck a Tree. The Tesla was being operated by a Teen and had Four Passengers inside. Four of The Passengers were transported to area Hospitals, with Three being admitted for Serious Injuries.
A Joint Investigation by Members of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit in conjunction with The Closter Police Depatment determined that The Tesla was Traveling at a High Rate of Speed just prior to The Crash.
Accordingly, The Juvenile Driver was Charged with Three Counts of Fourth Degree Assault by Auto Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. The Juvenile was Released into the Custody of a Guardian and is Scheduled for a First Appearance in Bergen County Family Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
