43-YEAR-OLD ENGLEWOOD MAN CHARGED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A PRE-TEEN

ENGLEWOOD, NJ.- On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, a Married 43-Year-Old Englewood, New Jersey man was Taken into Custody and Charged in connection with the Alleged Sexual Assault of a Pre-Teen.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, Members of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit were notified by The Englewood Police Department regarding the Alleged Sexual Assault of a Child. An investigation ensued.

     Following the investigation, Detectives determined that Juan Ortiz-Avendano, 43, of Englewood, New Jersey, Sexually Assaulted the Child in Englewood, New Jersey. Accordingly, Mr. Ortiz-Avendano was Taken into Custody at The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and Formally Charged with Two Counts of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Second Degree Sexual Assault by Contact; and Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

     Mr. Ortiz-Avendano was Processed on The Charges and Remanded to The Bergen County Jail to await Future Court Proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court.
