BREAKING: Bloomfield, New Jersey Man Charged For Armed Robbery

     " Christopher Pacheco-Rosario Has Been Charged For Robbing 5 Teens At Gunpoint In A Bergen County Park."

WALLINGTON, NJ.- On Monday, November 13, 2023, following an Arrest in Bloomfield New Jersey on an unrelated incident, a 19-Year-Old Bloomfield man was Charged in connection with the October 24, 2023, Gunpoint Robbery of Five Teens at a Bergen County Park. 



     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on October 24, 2023, just minutes before 6:30 p.m., Members of The Wallington Police Department responded to Samuel Nelkin County Park in Wallington on a report of an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival, Police Officers encountered Five Juveniles who arranged to purchase a bicycle from Facebook Market Place and were to meet the seller at The Park.


     The man arrived at the park on a bicycle, brandished a Firearm, and Attempted to Rob the Five Juveniles, who all fled on foot. 


     Following the initial report, The Wallington Police Department notified The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigation Unit and a Joint Investigation was initiated. During the investigation, Detectives were able to Identify Christopher Pacheco-Rosario, 19, Bloomfield, New Jersey as the Suspect and the individual responsible for Robbing the Teens.


     On Monday, November 13, 2023, Mr. Pacheco-Rosario was Arrested by Members of The Bloomfield Police Department on Charges in connection with a separate incident. Mr. Pacheco-Rosario was subsequently Charged by The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office in connection with the October 24, 2023, Wallington Robbery.


     Accordingly, Pacheco-Rosario was Formally Charged with First Degree Armed Robbery; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons; and Fourth Degree Aggravated Assault by Pointing a Firearm.


     Mr. Pacheco-Rosario was Processed on The Charges and remanded to The Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey pending Future Court Proceedings in Bergen County State Superior Court.
