51-YEAR-OLD GRANDMOTHER CHARGED IN YESTERDAY'S STABBING OF HER 5-YEAR-OLD GRANDDAUGHTER
" Aurora Villacorta Was Charged With Aggravated Assault & Weapons Offenses In Yesterday Afternoon Stabbing Of Her Granddaughter."

PATERSON, NJ.- In an unsettling turn of events, a 51-Year-Old Grandmother was taken into Custody and Charged yesterday afternoon after Police Officers found her 5-Year-Old suffering from Multiple Stab Wounds inside her Paterson, New Jersey Apartment.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Members of The Paterson Police Department responded to a Third Floor Apartment on the corner of Carroll Street and Godwin Avenue in Paterson on a report of a Stabbing. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 5-Year-Old Girl suffering from Multiple Stab Wounds. The Girl was immediately transported to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center where she was listed in Critical Condition.
Based on a Swift-Moving Investigation, Police Officers quickly determined Aurora Villacorta, 51, the Child's Grandmother, had Stabbed the Girl, numerous times. Ms. Villacorta was placed under Arrest shortly thereafter.
Accordingly, Ms. Villacorta was Formally Charged with One Count of Second Degree Aggravated Assault; Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Third Degree Aggravated Assault; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Ms. Villacorta was Processed on The Charges and had her First Appearance Scheduled for Today.
