BREAKING: Bear, Delaware Man Charged In Kidnapping Investigation

27-YEAR-OLD DELAWARE MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE KIDNAPPING OF AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD

     " Darius Matylewich Of Delaware Has Been Returned To New Jersey To Face Charges Of Kidnapping & Child Endangerment Offenses."

WAYNE, NJ.- Yesterday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes reported that a 27-Year-Old Bear, Delaware man has been returned to New Jersey to answer to The Charges of Kidnapping and Child Endangerment, he traveled to Wayne, New Jersey on September 10, 2023, to meet a 11-Year-Old Girl he met online and brought her back to Delaware without her parent's knowledge.


     According to Passaic County Authorities, on September 10, 2023, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Members of The Wayne Police Department responded to the area of U.S. Route 46 and Old Turnpike Road in Wayne on a report of a Missing 11-Year-Old Girl. Shortly thereafter The Wayne Police Department the Girl in Bear, Delaware.



     Based on the ensuing investigation, Authorities determined that Darius Matylewich, 27, of Bear, Delaware had met the Girl while Playing an Online Video Game. Matylewich then traveled to Wayne, New Jersey, and transported her back to Bear, Delaware, without their Consent or knowledge of her Parents'. New Castle County, Delaware Police Officers Arrested Matylewich within hours of the Child being reported missing near his home in Bear, Delaware. Mr. Matylewich was subsequently Extradited to New Jersey.


     Accordingly, Mr. Maylewich was Formally Charged in Passaic County with One Count of First Degree Kidnapping; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Maylewich was Processed on The Charges and is being Lodged in The Passaic County Jail. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has Filed a Motion to have Maylewich Detained pending the resolution of The Charges Filed Against him.
