JERSEY CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD MEMBER CHARGED WITH THEFT

     " Resident Board Member Tyest Bryant Charged With The Theft Of $20,000. Over 5 Years."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that on Thursday, August 10, 2023, following an investigation, Members of The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Unit Arrested a 53-Year-Old Jersey City Woman in connection with Funds Missing from The Jersey City Housing Authority over a Five Year Span.


     Tyest Bryant, 53, of Jersey City, New Jersey was Charged on Thursday with One Count of Third Degree Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition. Ms. Bryant was Taken into Custody at The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus, New Jersey, and Released on a Summons pending her First Appearance which has been Scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, 2023.



     During the investigation, Detectives uncovered that Ms. Bryant, as a Resident Board Member for The Booker T. Washington Housing Complex, missed using over $20,000 of Money for her personal gain between the Years 2017 and 2022.
