MERCER COUNTY HOMICIDE TASK FORCE INVESTIGATING THE FATAL SHOOTING OF A TRENTON MAN

TRENTON, NJ.- Today, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported that The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and The Trenton Police Department are actively investigating a Fatal Shooting that occurred early Friday morning in The City of Trenton.
On Friday, June 9, 2023, at approximately 12:03 a.m., Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to a Multi-Shot ShotSpotter Activation in the area of Aspen Alley and Evans Avenue in The City of Trenton. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Markell Biggs, 20, of Trenton, New Jersey suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds to his Chest.
Mr. Biggs was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.
No Arrests have been made and the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the Fatal Shooting of Mr. Biggs is asked to contact The Mercer County Homicide Task Force at (609) 989-6406.
