Carteret, New Jersey Man Charged

26-YEAR-OLD CARTERET MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH YESTERDAY'S BEATING DEATH OF HIS GRANDMOTHER

     " Cyril Lloyd Has Been Charged With Murder & Weapons Offenses In Yesterday Afternoon's Beating Death Of His Grandmother."

CARTERET, NJ.- Today, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported a Carteret Man has been Charged in connection with the Beating Death of Juanita Quinones, 77, of Carteret, New Jersey.


     On Monday, May 1, 2023, at approximately 5:29 p.m., Members of The Carteret Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting that an Individual was seen area near Taylor Avenue, who Appeared to be Covered in Blood. Upon arrival, Police Officers found Cyril Lloyd, 26, of Carteret, New Jersey.



     Mr. Lloyd was transported back to his home. When Police Officers entered the residence they found a Woman, later identified as Juanita Quinones, 77, Mr. Lloyd's Grandmother, Unresponsive from Multiple Head Wounds. Ms. Quinones was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.


     Accordingly, Mr. Lloyd was Arrested and Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Mr. Lloyd was Processed on the Charges and Remanded to The Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center, pending a Pretrial Detention Hearing in Middlesex County State Superior Court.
