ONE DEAD, AND THREE WERE INJURED IN A SATURDAY NIGHT SHOOTING IN NEWARK

     " Essex County Homicide Task Force Are Investigating A Shooting That Has Claimed The Life Of A Man & Left 3 Hospitalized."

NEWARK, NJ.- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II reported that The Essex County Homicide Task Force is continuing to investigate a Shooting that left a 43-Year-Old Newark man Dead and Three Hospitalized from Gunshot Wounds.

     On Saturday, April 15, 2023, at approximately 7:39 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to The 400 Block of Leslie Street in Newark, New Jersey on a report of a Shooting with Multiple Victims.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a Crime Scene, and Four People all suffering from Gunshot Wounds. All Four were immediately transported to University Hospital, where Corey Beasley, 43, of Newark, New Jersey succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:09 p.m. The Three other Victims were treated for the injuries and remained hospitalized at this time.
