Irvington New Jersey Man Charged

ARREST MADE IN THE SATURDAY NIGHT NEWARK SHOOTING THAT KILLED ONE AND INJURED THREE

     " Antuane Gregory Has Been Charged With Murder, Attempted Murder, & Weapons Offenses In Connection With The April 15, 2023, Newark Shooting."

NEWARK, NJ.- Today, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II reported that a 42-Year-Old Irvington, New Jersey man has been taken into Custody and Charged with Murder in connection to a Newark, New Jersey Shooting that claimed the Life of a 43-Year-Old Newark man, and Injured Three that occurred Saturday Night.


     On Saturday, April 15, 2023, at approximately 7:39 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to The 400 Block of Leslie Street, near the intersection of Chancellor Avenue in Newark on a report of a Shooting. Upon arrival, Police Officers found Four People suffering from Gunshot Wounds. All Four were immediately transported to University Hospital, where Corey Beasley, 43, of Newark, New Jersey where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later. The other Three People were Hospitalized and are listed in stable condition.


     A Swift-Moving investigation by Members of The Essex County Homicide Task Force and The Newark Police Department was able to quickly identify Antune Gregory, 42, of Irvington, New Jersey as the Suspect and the Individual Responsible for The Shooting.



     Accordingly, Mr. Gregory has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Four Counts of First Degree Attempted Murder; Four Counts of Aggravated Assault; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Five Counts of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.


     Mr. Gregory was Processed on the Charges and Remanded to The Essex County Correctional Facility.
