Hudson County Men Plead Guilty

TWO HUDSON COUNTY MEN ADMIT TO FATALLY SHOOTING, ROBBING FAIRVIEW MAN IN HIS HOME

     " Raul Torres, Of North Bergen & Carlos Burgos, Of Jersey City Admit Guilt For Fatally Shooting David Duque Soto Back In June 2019."

HACKENSACK, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that on Friday, March 31, 2023, Two Hudson County men Pleaded Guilty in connection with their roles in The Robbery and Fatal Shooting of a Fairview, New Jersey man inside of his home.


     Last Friday, Raul Torres, 23, of North Bergen, and Carlos Burgos, 23, of Jersey City, both Pleaded Guilty to Aggravated Manslaughter; Robbery; Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Both Torres and Burgos will be Sentenced to 30 Years in New Jersey State Prison. The Sentence will be Subject to The No Early Release Act, which will require both men to Serve Eighty-Five Percent of their Custodial Sentence before becoming eligible for Parole.


     Mr. Torres and Mr. Burgos are the latest to Plead Guilty in a Multi-Defendant Case for their roles in an Armed Drug Robbery in Bergen County, New Jersey.


     On June 29, 2019, both Torres and Burgos admitted to bursting into David Duque Soto's Apartment located at 215 4th Street in Fairview, New Jersey, with Loaded Handguns and Firing at Mr. Soto Striking him several times. Mr. Soto subsequently Died from his Injuries.
