39-YEAR-OLD JERSEY CITY MAN CONVICTED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING HIS STEPDAUGHTER

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that on Friday, March 10, 2023, a Jury sitting in Hudson County, New Jersey, returned Guilty Verdicts against a 39-Year-Old Jersey City man in connection with the Sexual Assault of his Stepdaughter.
The man was Convicted of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Second Degree Sexual Assault by Contact; and Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The Crimes occurred in a Jersey City residence between 2018 and 2020 when the Child was between Eight and Nine Years Old.
The Verdicts followed a Three Day Trial before The Honorable Mitchell L. Pascual, J.S.C. Sentencing has been Scheduled for May 19, 2023, at which time the man faces 25 Years to Life in New Jersey State Prison Pursuant to The Jessica Lunsford Act. He will be Subject to Parole Supervision for Life and Megan's Law Registration Requirements.
" Crimes on children are heinous, even more so when the defendant is trusted to care and provide for the victim," said Assistant Prosecutor Dennis Murray. "We thank the jury for its service in this matter and are hopeful this conviction provides healing to the victim on the continued road to recovery."
