ESSEX COUNTY AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING THE FATAL SHOOTING A NEWARK MAN

     " Essex County Homicide Task Force Investigating The Fatal Shooting Of Keni Johnson."

NEWARK, NJ.- On Saturday, February 11, 2023, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II announced that Detectives are of The Essex County Homicide Task Force are investigating the circumstances surrounding the Shooting Death of a 45-Year-Old Newark, New Jersey man.

     On Saturday, February 11, 2023, at approximately 8:54 a.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to The 100 Block of North Munn Avenue on a report of Shots Fired.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Keni Johnson, 45, of Newark, New Jersey having succumbed to an apparent Gunshot Wound. Mr. Johnson was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time no arrests have been made. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office asks anyone with information regarding the Fatal Shooting of Mr. Johnson is urged to contact The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Tips Line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC.
